Keen Smiles Family Dental Clinic

So, you’ve explored the benefits of Invisalign and decided it’s the right choice for you. You’re ready to finally straighten your teeth and enjoy the smile you’ve always dreamed about. What’s the next step? Well, Invisalign is manufactured by Align Technology, an American medical device company, but you can’t purchase the aligners directly from Align Technology as they’re not a direct-to-consumer company. Scroll down to learn how to get Invisalign so that you can start your orthodontic journey ASAP.

How to Get Invisalign

Invisalign is available through licensed, trained orthodontists and dentists at accredited offices. You can explore all the Invisalign providers in your area using Invisalign’s Doctor Locator tool. Simply input your zip code, and you’ll see a map of providers near you.

Invisalign has become more and more common, so don’t be surprised if you spot your typical dentist on the list. In many cases, if you’re wondering how to get Invisalign, you simply need to notify your dentist at your next check-up. They can provide you with more information and help you understand the next steps in the process. Critically, they can also tell you if you’re a good candidate for Invisalign.

If you live in southwest Missouri, you’ll recognize Keen Smiles Family Dental on the list of authorized providers. Contact us for a consultation, and we can help you decide if Invisalign is the right choice for you.

The Initial Appointment

At your first appointment, your dentist will tell you more about the process, explain the costs involved, and answer any questions you might have. For example, the following are just a few of the questions that your dentist might answer or you might wish to ask:

  • How much will my Invisalign treatment cost?
  • Will my insurance plan cover any of the cost?
  • How long will the treatment last?
  • How often will I need to make check-up appointments?
  • How often do I need to wear my aligners?

After that, if you choose to move forward with the treatment, your dentist will scan your mouth with an intraoral scanner to create a 3D model of your mouth and teeth. You will likely also need to have x-rays and impressions done. Using all this information, your dentist will create your customized treatment plan. Then, they will order your custom-made aligners.

What Happens Next?

After that, it’s up to you to wear your aligners for 20 to 22 hours per day to ensure optimal results. Every two weeks (or as otherwise directed by your dentist), you’ll receive a new set of aligners. With each new set of aligners, your teeth will gradually shift into their ideal placement.
